Yes, your server is your server! You are free to install any software on your server that you desire. Please keep in mind that we cannot offer support or assistance in installing or configuring applications.
- Can you help me set up my email, firewall, etc., on my new server?

If you are inexperienced in server administration, we strongly recommend that you purchase Plesk with your dedicated server. Plesk makes configuring email addresses, mailing lists, mail forwarding and aliases extremely straightforward. Cari.net support cannot walk you through configuring your server, but there are many high quality resources available online that can get you on your way.
