From very simple standalone unmanaged dedicated servers all the way to top-of-the-line SaaS solutions like the iBizPanel, these servers must remain online 24x7x365 and are delivered on CARI.net's world class network.

One of the leading innovators in the server hosting industry, CARI.net is headquartered in the heart of San Diego's technology corridor, has multiple positions available immediately for integrating and managing a powerful and unique cloud solution using Microsoft System Center. We currently have two open positions:

- Windows Systems Administrator

- Systems Support Technician

Windows Systems Administrators

We are seeking candidates that are highly motivated to drive tasks to completion and demonstrate high energy and passion towards Windows system administration.

Required Skills

• Basic Windows Server configuration and troubleshooting abilities.
• Must be a great team player.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and effectively.

Windows Skills

• Command line, PowerShell, file management, and permissions.
• Windows networking and IP configuration.
• Software: Hyper-V, Active Directory, SQL, IIS, Remote Desktop.
• OS: Windows Server 2008 & 2008 R2.
• Experience with Windows System Center and/or MCP certification is a big plus!

General Skills

• Knowledge of DNS.
• Ports and protocols.
• Hardware troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of web protocols (HTTP, FTP).
• Basic email server and client troubleshooting (SMTP, POP, IMAP).
• Networking concepts (TCP/IP, ethernet, switches, routers, OSI model).
• Internet Security.
• Willingness to work hard and excel.

Communication

• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Spanish or other languages a plus.
• Able to read and comprehend technical documentation.

Other Requirements

• Schedule: You MUST be able to work nights and on weekends.
• Must be able to legally work in the US.
• Drug test and employment verification required prior to hiring.
• This is an on-site position. Applicants should be local as we are looking to fill this position immediately.

Additional consideration given for applicants with

• Certifications (MCITP, MCITP Enterprise Administrator, MCITP Server Administration, MCITP SQL Server Administration/Development etc.).
• Previous customer service experience.

Systems Support Technician

We are looking for talented individuals seeking a career in Linux and Windows system administration.

Required Skills

• Basic hardware and operating system configuration and troubleshooting abilities.

Windows & Linux Skills

• Basic troubleshooting/operation.
• Command line, file management and permissions.
• Network configuration.
• Windows: Windows Server 2003 & 2008, Microsoft SQL, Active Directory and DFS (MCP a plus).
• Linux: Familiar with various distributions (LPIC-1/2/3 a plus).
• LAMP/WISA.

General Skills

• Knowledge of DNS.
