Setting up Abiquo demo
With Abiquo Enterprise Cloud Management, CARI.net customers can build a virtual data center in the cloud in only 5 minutes. Watch the following demonstration in which a user can log in, create a virtual data center, apply resources to the data center, create an appliance, drag and drop servers to create a network, deploy the network as an appliance and then log into the servers to configure them… in just 5 minutes!
Abiquo empowers authorized users and groups, by allowing them to manage their own virtual enterprises within allocated resource limits. New virtual machines or pre-built appliances can be deployed in seconds, dramatically improving efficiency and allowing you to regain business agility.
The Underlying Hardware
CARI.net's cloud architecture is a highly available, 100% fully redundant, fully scalable VLAN cluster. All cloud servers can run on any redundant physical servers. All host (physical) servers are connected to redundant, stackable, private 24-port 1Gbps switches via 6 redundant ports on 2 redundant network interface cards (2 ports per switch). This provides 4Gbps throughput between hosts. The SAN Storage Area Network (SAN) is Dell/Compellent redundant 10Gig switches are connected to redundant distribution switches and redundant routers with uplinks to redundant carriers using BGP mesh (Border Gateway Protocol). There are no limits to how far we can scale this cloud network. (add more)
Abiquo key features and benefits
- Redundant Hardware
- Web based context-aware graphical user interface
- Enterprise scalability
- Rapid Deployment
- Delegated control
Redundant Hardware
A large, high availability cluster ensures that VMs continue running 24/7/365. Hardware failure concerns are abstracted to the service provider level, allowing users to forget about disk loss or power supply burnouts.
Web based context-aware graphical user interface
Single point of control that can be immediately accessed by any authorized user from any location. Easy to understand and operate, reducing training times, and promoting user confidence..
Enterprise scalability
The Abiquo solution is designed to scale to meet the needs of the largest organizations and yet it is equally at home in a small development lab with only a few machines to manage. Its stateless architecture provides three deployment models depending on scalability requirements. A single administrator can easily manage hundreds of VMs. User privilege selection allows for delegated management of thousands of VMs. Abiquo is built on industry standards to operate in conjunction with other management tools, Web services, databases, storage systems and networking.
Rapid Deployment
VMs created from a diverse library of available OS’s and appliances allow for rapid deployment of new machines and topologies. The Abiquo interface handles hardware setup, networking, and power state, freeing the user to focus on more important development tasks. Instancing allows for easy replication of currently configured VMs, making clustering a breeze.
Delegated control
Frees the IT infrastructure team from the need to provision and manage every virtual machine while empowering authorised users, reducing backlog and bottlenecks and significantly increasing agility and flexibility.
