S-POD Density
Hot-Row Cold-Row Data Center Layout
As you can see in a standard colocation facilities layout based on Hot Row / Cold Row layout, you lose a tremendous amount of real estate. The standard 36" cabinets with 2 tile separation equalling 4 feet between each row as depicted in Diagram 1.1. We took a standard design equalling 2000sq. ft. data center and configured it with a standard 36" cabinet in a hot row / cold row configuration. As you can see this will only support 100 cabinets with an average of 35 servers per rack will only support 3,500 servers. This is not bad based on collocation facilities standards.
Server-POD Data Center Layout
Server POD’s have a different density configuration then the standard 36" x 44U cabinet. Our proprietary design handles 14 servers per POD that are stacked to support 28 servers per 2 × 2 footprint. We have depicted the same layout in diagram 2.1 as a 2000sq. ft. facility supporting 170 Stacked Server POD’s a total of 340 footprints in a 2ft. x 2ft. space. This allows a total of 4,760 servers and increase the density by 36% versus a hot row / cold row configuration, allowing us to reduce our energy consumption and pass our savings on to you.
Server-POD 2.0 Data Center Layout
The new Server POD 2.0 has a different density configuration then anything in the past. Working directly with Intel as a "Premier Intel Partner" we will release the new version of Intel’s product line supporting the 32nm low voltage technology allowing us to support 28 servers per POD that are stacked to support 56 servers per 2 × 2 foot print. We have depicted the same layout in diagram 3.1 as a 2000sq. ft. facility supporting 170 Stacked Server POD’s a total of 340 footprints in a 2ft. x 2ft. space. This will allow a total of 9,520 servers and increase the density by 170% versus a hot row cold row configuration. The average cost to build out a Data Center is about $1,000.00 per sq. ft. So if we do the math on a 2000sq. ft. facility it will cost about $2,000,000.00 With this in mind, we are able to support a 36% to a 170% increase of revenue from our facilities verses any competitor on the market today. This is what allows us to be the most competitive Dedicated Server Hosting organization in the world.
